Month: April 2014

The STEM Garden

Do you like flowers? Butterflies? Would you like to learn about gardening? The Stickney Forest-View Public Library District will create our first very own garden this year.

But what is the most important part of our garden? YOU! We invite you to garden with us every step of the way. If you’d like to help plant vegetables and flowers, water our new plants, or pull weeds, we would love to have you.

Happy Poem In Your Pocket Day!

April 24, 2014 is a day to celebrate poetry by carrying  a poem in your pocket! What poem would you carry?  I might go with

from one of my favorite books, Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister

or maybe

because I love dogs so much!

There are so many great poems out there it’s difficult to choose. You can read all about poetry and Poem In Your Pocket day here  at the website for The American Academy of Poets.
